From the resent news gathered, it was discovered that US-led soldier has been killed by Militants in northern Afghanistan.

NATO has confirmed in a brief statement that the trooper lost his life in a Friday attack.

But, it has refused to release any details about the nationality of the soldier or the exact location of the attack.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet, but Taliban militants are frequently blamed for such raids in the country.

The attack came as most US-led forces prepare to leave the war-torn country by the end of the year.

Militancy and attacks on foreign forces are still commonplace across Afghanistan more than 13 years into the US-led invasion of the country.

According to official figures released by the website, the overall number of the US-led soldiers killed so far this year in Afghanistan stands at 68, of which 49 have been American.

The US and its allies invaded Afghanistan in 2001 as part of Washingtonā€™s so-called war on terror. The offensive removed the Taliban from power, but insecurity continues across the country despite the presence of tens of thousands of US-led troops.

The US-led war in Afghanistan, which has caused record-high civilian and military casualties, has become the longest military conflict in US history.
