As we all know we cannot do without the computer, for example, it is used for browsing, typing, play games, watching movies etc. The question one will want to ask may be, why will I repair my computer instead of going to get a brand new one? Trust me not everyone can afford to get a brand new one when there is other means to replace the affected part. You will learn Tips to repair computer yourself and you will also know the component that is needed to replace it.
However, there need to be some means of maintenance of your computer so as to be repair as fast as possible. There are some components that will be used to build the system to its normal state. To get the steps needed to build back your computer all you need to do is to see reasons to scroll down this article and learn more. Ahead strictly to the Tips to Repair computer.
Tips to Repair Computer with Its components
The following are the unique Tips to Repair Computer, install and mount your computer;
1: Mounting of Motherboard
Here are the steps to mount Motherboard;
- First of all, mount the Motherboard on the inside of the case. (Knowing fully well that all case is different, so it is necessary you get used to yours).
- Then you carefully observe the position of the screws and side panels. (If you are still not sure of the position, you can look at the manual for direction).
- Followed by matching the I/O side of the Motherboard with the rectangular space on the back of the case.
- The next step is to remove the shield from the I/O on the Motherboard. Here you need to remove the cover at the back of the case before screwing the I/O panel of Motherboard into it.
- Note that the holes in the corner and also around the edges of the Motherboard should now align with the holes in the case so that you can fix it with the screws properly. (Let it lean on the case, not all the holes will align).
- Finally, Screw it in order to keep the Motherboard safe and intact. Just make sure the Motherboard is adequately tight on both sides.
2. Installation of Processor
Steps required are;
i. First step is that the gold arrow on one corner of the processor and processor socket on the motherboard which has an arrow on one side needs to be aligned for the correct installation. (Please be very careful as the processor pins are fragile and there is no warranty cover to mishandling and physical damage).
ii. Remove the cover over the socket
iii. Pull up the Lever and gently place the processor in its place (note that the gold arrows must remain aligned).
iv. Then lock the processor by pulling down the lever. Everything must fall into place easily without requiring any force or compared from you while installing.
v. Re-check the placement and matching of arrows If you think something is amiss.
vi. In case it works or it do not, check whether the processor and motherboard are compatible.
vii. Once the processor is compatible, mount the cooler on top of it. (Processor and cooler are usually shipped together, but for certain processors, such as OEM, you need to buy the cooler separately). Putting the cooler in its place is much easier as compared to installing the processor. That is that about installing processor.

3. RAM Installation
i. Firstly, you need to locate the RAM socket on the motherboard.
ii. Then Pull the clamps or clips down on one side of the socket.
iii. Followed by matching the small cut-out on the RAM with the small indentation in the socket.
iv. Lastly, you Press down then the RAM and the clips will automatically come back to their normal position.
4. Graphics and Other PCI cards Installation
i. Ensure the notches, indentations and the size of the components match with their sockets or slots. (Fit them where they belong. If something isn’t fitting easily, you are probably putting it in the wrong place).
2. You just need to find the slot on the top and press them inside the socket in order install the PCI and graphics card easily.
5. Installation of Hard Drive
i. First of all, there is a hard disk bay you need to pull out.
ii. Then use screw to fix the hard drive in it.
Iii. And finally, you slide the hard drive tray back in its position. (Note that some cases have a bay you need to slide the hard drive into and fix it with screws. Moreover, some smaller ones have multiple trays for multiple hard drives).

6. Optical Drive Installation
i. All you just need to do is to remove the cover and push the drive into the bay from the outside. (As we all know that the Optical drive bay is usually on the top).
ii, It often requires you to screw the drive to hold it firmly and keep it safe from vibrations.
7. Install the Power Supply
i. You only need to install the power supply when all other components are in place. This is because it comes in the way of installation.
ii. You need to remove the cover on top of the case where there is space and push the power supply inside it.
iii. Ensure you tighten the screws to fix the drive firmly and intact.
8. Plug the Wires or Cables
Type of cables or Wires for computer;
The following are the types of wire or cable which one need to look out to when plugging it to the computer;
i. Motherboard wire (24 pins)
This cable has 24 pins and supplies the power to the motherboard. You simply need to plug it into the motherboard socket with 24 pins. It is the largest and most prominent wire on your power supply and also easiest to identify.
ii. Motherboard cable (4 pins)
What is needed is to find the cable that has 4 pins on the power supply and plug it into the motherboard socket that also has 4 pins.
ii. Graphics card power (6 pins)
Most graphics cards get the power supply from the motherboard and not all the graphics cards need to be powered up separately. But, some high-end, powerful cards need the power directly from the supply using the 6-pin wire, which plugs into the socket on the card itself and not the motherboard.
iii. Drive cables
There is the SATA data cable that is plugged into your drive and motherboard. Basically, your hard drive and optical drive are usually connected to the power supply and Motherboard using the same types of cables. The other cable is the power cable coming out of the power supply which goes into the power socket of the drives.
iv. Other cables
When dealing with cables, you need to plug in the processors fan into the Motherboard using a wire attached to the fan. Then there are cables for front and back audio and USB panels. You also need to put the LED and power switch cables in the right place. All you need to do is to read the manual carefully and know the cable or wire you intend buying for your computer.
