About Babcock University: Babcock University is a private Christian co-educational Nigerian university owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Nigeria. The University is located at Ilishan-Remo equidistant between Ibadan and Lagos.

Babcock University was named after the American missionary David C. Babcock who pioneered the ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist church in Nigeria in 1914. Babcock university was established in 1959 and was then called the Adventist college of West Africa before the name was changed in 1975 to the Adventist Seminary of West Africa.

Babcock University has nine (9) schools and one (1) college they include: School of Agriculture and Industrial Technology, Babcock Business School, College of Health & Medical Sciences, School of Basic & Applied Science (formerly Science and Technology), School of Computing &Engineering Sciences, School of Education and Humanities, School of Law and Security Studies, School of Nursing, School of Public and Applied Health, School of Post Graduate Studies. Babcock University Postgraduate Admission Requirements

  • Applicants must possess a first degree from a recognized University or qualification adjudged to be equivalent to a first degree may be admitted
  • A candidate who wishes to apply for admission into the master’s program must possess a first degree from a recognized University with a minimum of a second class lower division. A candidate with a good postgraduate diploma from a recognized University or with a professional certification in addition to a first degree or HND may also be admitted to a Masters Degree programme.
  • A candidate who wishes to apply for admission into the doctorate degree must possess a good Masters Degree not less than 60% average from a recognized University or 4.00 CGPA from a recognized university.

 

 

How to Apply for Babcock University Postgraduate Programs

  • Scroll down a little bit and click on “Download” to download admission form
  • Download and print the form
  • Fill the form correctly and submit with the required documents
  • The application form should be completed and returned by hand or courier service with the photocopies of the following documents:

 

  1. WASC/G.C.E. O’Level/TC II Certificate or equivalent
  2. Bachelor’s Degree/HND Certificate
  3. Master’s Degree Certificate for candidates proposing to pursue MPhil and Ph.D.
  4. Notification of Results of Bachelor’s Degree Examinations for B. U. graduates proposing to pursue Masters and Ph.D. Degrees
  5. NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate for Nigerian Candidates
  6. Marriage Certificate or Evidence of Change of Name(s) where applicable
  7. Two recent passport-sized photographs Arrangement should be made with your institution to forward your academic transcript to reach the following address:
