Oladopo Daniel Oyebanjo A.K. A D’banj was born on 9th June 1980 in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. He is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and TV host. The Koko Master, Dbanj genre of music includes Afropop, R&B, and POP.
Dbanj was enrolled into the Nigerian military school at the age of seven. In the military school, he was a member of the elite drum corps of the Nigerian Army. After three years he enrolled from the military school, he moves from military school to Nigeria Navy secondary school, Ibara, Abeokuta where he was a church worker. There he completed his secondary school education. The Koko master, Dbanj gained admission into Lagos State University where he was he was studying Mechanical engineering. Dbanj withdrew from Lagos state university and moved to London to precede his education because of constant strikes in the school.

D’Banj was the formal co-founder of MO hit record with Don Jazzy. It was in London that he met Don Jazzy and they both began working together. D’Banj and Don Jazzy returned to Nigeria and released Tongolo which was a hit. Tongolo video was reportedly paid for by his mother. D’Banj has worked with several artists like Don Jazzy, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Dr. SID, Akon, 2 Face Idibia etc. he has also worked under record labels such as DB records, GOOD Music, Mercury, Sony Music Entertainment, Rockstar4000 etc.
D’Banj Awards, Endorsements, and Net Worth
D’Banj has won so many awards, including the awards for the best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2007, Artist of the year at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2009, best international Act Africa at the 2011 BET Awards, and Bestselling African Artist at the 2014 world music Awards, Evolution award at the 2015 MTV Africa music etc.
The Koko master, D’Banj signed an endorsement deal with SLOT, Dugout, Heritage Bank etc. in 2015 D’banj started up Garri production with the name Koko garri in which the richest black man in the world, Aliko Dangote endorsed.
D’Banj is into IT; especially value-added services and content digital distribution. He owns MCOMM Ltd (media mobile communication). In August 2016, D’Bang partnered with MTN Nigeria and the bank of industry to launch THE CREAM PLATFORM.
In 2018, according to Forbes, D’banj is said to worth $10 million.
