Job Vacancies at the African Development Bank Group (AFDB)/Positions

  • Position Title: Chief ports and Maritime Transport officer – PICU1

Location: Cote d’Ivoire

 

Selection Criteria

Including desirable skills, knowledge, and experience:

  1. Hold at least a Master’s degree or its equivalent in Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering, Ports and Maritime Engineering, Transport Planning, Transport Economics, Transport Logistics, or related discipline.
  2. Have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in ports infrastructure development and logistics in the public or private sector with proven experience in at least two key aspects including planning, design, operation, financing, regulation.
  3. Dual qualification in Transportation Engineering and Business/Finance will be an added advantage.
  4. Public and/or private sector experience involving PPPs for ports development, concessions, or privatization. Experience in private sector experience will be an added advantage.
  5. Thorough knowledge of Ports infrastructure, logistics and ports operations, Institutions and regulations.
  6. Foundational knowledge of ports and logistics business models with the ability to apply/recommend operationally relevant solutions and lessons for clients.
  7. Knowledge and experience in development and understanding of the policy-making process; project and program design, execution, monitoring, and evaluation.
  8. Policy dialogue skills – Ability to identify and assess critical policy issues and active dialogue with governments and/or other stakeholders to develop solutions.
  9. Ability to make sense of complexity, interpret a wide range of information and make smart decisions.
  10. Effective consultation and advisory skills coupled with a client orientation to ensure relevancy.
  11. Create, apply and share knowledge across the Bank to strengthen solutions for internal and/ or external clients.
  12. Communicate and write effectively in French or English, with a good working knowledge of the other language;
  13. Competence in the use of standard Microsoft Office Suite applications; knowledge of SAP is an added advantage.

  • Position Title: Director, Human Resources Management – CHHR

Location: Cote d’ivoire

 

Selection Criteria

Including desirable skills, knowledge, and experience:

  1. At least a Master’s degree or its equivalent in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, MBA or  related disciplines; A professional qualification in HR management, project management will be an added value
  2. At least fifteen (15)  years of extensive and progressive experience in Human Resource Management, seven (7) years of which should have been at a managerial role and/or in supervising a team and coordinating work programs or projects;
  3. Demonstrable experience in executing organizational transformational change and improvement of processes;
  4. Sound understanding of the business and operational needs with proven capacity to innovate, promote and direct change initiatives in corporate human resource policies and services in large organizations and in a client-centric, business partnering environment;
  5. Proven experience in HR Management theories and principles, policy and strategy development, employee relations, personnel administration and different functional areas of Human resources;
  6. Proven record of building and managing teams and creating an enabling environment, including the ability to effectively lead, supervise, mentor and develop and evaluate staff;
  7. Strong generalist HR experience, especially in; (i) supporting managers and staff in planning and implementing change (ii) employee relations, well-being and work-life balance, (ii) people search, attraction, selection and retention, (iii) compensation design, implementation, and management, (iv) equal opportunities and employment policies, (v) management of HR information systems and processes (vii) performance management and assessment, (vi) people planning, career planning, and succession management
  8. Proven experience in coordinating and implementing HR management theories and principles, policy and strategy development
  9. Sound analytical skills – ability to build and analyze HR data accuracy including HR approved KPIs
  10. Proven track record of HR Projects Management
  11. Communicate and write effectively in French or English, with a good working knowledge of the other language;
  12. Competence in the use of standard Microsoft Office Suite applications and ERP Systems (preferably SAP HR) and e-Recruitment systems and project management software like share point or any similar software.
