Overpopulation occurs when the ecological footprint of a human population in a specific geographical location exceeds the carrying capacity of the place occupied by that group. Overpopulation can further be viewed, in a long term perspective, as existing when a population cannot be maintained given the rapid depletion of non-renewable resources or given the degradation of the capacity of the environment to give support to the population. Conflict cannot just start without having one or two disagreement so as in Overpopulation.  That is the main reason while developing countries puts a major prohibition on the resources it should be utilizing for development. Disagreement and Conflicts over water are becoming a source of tension between different countries of the world.

Here, overpopulation causes more diseases to spread and makes them harder to control. Starvation is a huge issue facing the world and the mortality rate for children is being fuelled by it. However, disease is one of the hallmarks that occur when it comes to overpopulation. We can no longer prevent it, but there are ways to control it. Talking about overpopulation, it shows that while there are many factors that can increase the death rate for short periods of time, the ones that increase the birth rate do so over a long period of time. Moreover, the discovery of agriculture by our ancestors was one of the factors that provided them with the ability to sustain their nutrition without hunting. This created the first imbalance between the two rates. At the root of overpopulation is the difference between the overall birth rate and death rate in populations. If the number of children born each year equals the number of adults that die, then the population will stabilize.

This is another consequence of Overcrowding in Nigeria. Presently, it is possible to have several wives in Nigeria and each of them may give birth to at least one child, while all of them have just one father. It also adds to the population growth. This made the cause of overpopulation to be the influence of the culture as well as early marriage another factor.

Illiteracy they say is a disease, this so called overpopulation can lead to illiteracy. What am I saying? In many areas, people do not have access to proper sexual education. Thus, they know little about contraception methods and give birth to many kids without going through the right steps and sex education. There need to be a tangible solution to the problem of illiteracy in the country.

The more a country is overpopulated the worst in terms of an increase in birth rate. The medicine moves forward and special infertility treatment is applied. That’s why more and more women are able to get pregnant.

  1. Quality and Better Education

Family planning and efficient birth control can help in women making their own reproductive choices. Open dialogue on abortion and voluntary sterilization should be seen when talking about overpopulation. Moreover, educating the masses helps them understand the need to have one or two children at the most. Families that are facing a hard life and choose to have four or five children should be discouraged. Hence, they have good and better education.

  1. Sex Education

When there is over population without inculcating sex education on the younger once the results is that there would be sexually active teenagers who are not aware of contraceptives and embarrassed to seek information about same. It is therefore important for parents and teachers to shed their old inhibitions and make their kids or students aware of solid sex education. Imparting sex education to young kids at elementary level should be must. In the modern times, parents feel shy in discussing such things to  their kids who result in their children going out and look out for such information on internet or discuss it with their peer group.

4. Concession or Tax As some humans are more inclined towards money, Government of various countries might have to come with various policies related to tax exemptions to curb overpopulation. Hence, there would be reduction in population growth. lowering rates of income tax for those married couples who have single or two children  can by this help to solve the issue of overcrowded country.
