Kenyans now get Clean Water through ATM-style dispenser

No doubt to say People living in slums traditionally rely on vendors, who are expensive, or polluted sources to get drinking water. That is why, listing to the cry of Kenyans living in Nairobi is one great achievement to record.

Good to announce that Residents of the Mathare slum area of Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, are now able to access water through an ATM-style dispenser. Not only supplying water to them but also making the water more more cheaper than the rate vendors supplies to them before.

The Water ATM in Kenya charges  half a US cent for 20 litres of water.

After inserting the smart card the user types in how much water they want to buy.

The dispensers have been set up through a partnership between the local government and the Danish water engineering company Grundfos.

The company says that this public-private partnership model could be developed in other countries.

Meanwhile in another part of Nairobi residents are complaining about a water shortage.
